I will have to wait for ver 8 as is everyone else,just wonder what the price will be?

On the DD products site, they've got PT8 HD "Upgrade"... Is this "just" an upgrade from previous version? If so, I can't find a "full" version...

Plus, what's the difference between HD & M-Powered? I have an M-audio FW410 but it's given me endless stick for 2 years so don't want to be stuck with an app I can't use on a different soundcard.
Anyway, M-Powered seems to be out of stock in all UK dealers listed.

Last time I looked,Digital Village had 7.4 with a free upgrade to ver 8.

I was going to go that route but a boxed version 8 is due at the latest on 30/01/09,so I have decided to wait.

Firewire interfaces seem to have an issue with the type of chipset on the motherboard,others will be able to tell you more but I wouldn't have a Firewire anyway.

Delta 1010 LT seems to be the most cost effective at the moment,I know you probably won't want to buy another interface,but if you want to use Pro Tools,you will need to make sacrifices in some area's.

Musicians Friend also has 7.4 with a free 8 upgrade as well. That is where I bought mine. As soon as I registered, Digidesign sent me a link for the free upgrade.

I ordered PTMP 8.0 from sweetwater yesterday. Ask for Trip Irish; tell him Dave M from brooklyn recommended you. He's very knowledgeable and up on all his gear especially digidesign gear (HD, LE and M-powered). PS it shipped today (not 7.4 w/upgrade; it's full version of PT 8 M-powered)
