Default Licensing question

Does anyone know if Pro Tools LE 8 can be installed on a laptop and desktop registered by the same user? I know many software vendors let users install a single license software on two computers as long as they are registered to the same user. I do mobile recordings with my macbook pro and now have a mac pro to do my finalizing and mixdowns. Just curious to know. I have two licenses for LE 7.4 and one has already been upgraded to LE 8.3 on my laptop so If I cant use my existing 8.3 license for both desktop and laptop, I can always buy another upgrade license to LE 8.3

This is fine. You need to have your interface attached to whatever computer you want to open the software on. One license and the same authorization code is all you need.

my experience with this is m-powered 6.8. i could install pt anywhere i liked, but only 1 computer at a time. and i needed a ilok. i now have le 8, but have no plans to install it in a different location. if i were in your shoes, i would buy the upgrade so that i wouldn't have to keep switching iloks, etc.

This might be a crazy question, but I know that everyone on this forum are incredibly smart, lets say I have some sort of firewire hub, if there's even one out there?, like the USB hubs, can you say one day I want to run PT on the PC, so fire it up, or one day I'll like to mess around on the Mac?, having the hub where both firewire cables from each computer?

This is not a good idea for a few reasons. First off, Digidesign does not support firewire hubs. Secondly, you risk burning out the hub, or either computer's firewire ports depending on how the power is applied. Besides, I believe the hubs are designed for 1 output(to a single computer) and multiple inputs for drives(but I could be wrong on this).

Fully understand, I wonder if anyone has tried it?
