Default "Hardware Not Found" Mbox mini 3rd gen

I just got this problem today. I searched the forums and found that this seems to be a common problem with this unit. More on Windows machines from what I have read. I have un/installed the drivers several times. Current ver is 1.1.3 just installed 1.1.4 with no results so I am back at square one.

System: Mac Pro OSX 10.7.5, 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon, 16 GB Ram, (4) 1 TB Drives, Mbox mini 3rd gen, Pro Tools Express.

Can someone please help me? Thanks

Where did you get 1.1.4 from? Most recent Mac driver version available at download page is 1.1.3: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...nload/en374271. Are you sure that you downloaded drivers exactly for MBox mini (not MBox or MBox Pro)?

I think I did the 1.1.4 on accident. Since my post, I have done a new install of everything as if I just opened the box. Changed cable, used all of the 6 usb ports and still nothing. The light will come on but when launching software the same "hardware not found" error still shows up.

Hello everyone!! I see that everyone is having similar problems. I to have the mbox mini. I installed it and used it between PT Express and another DAW from may to july with no problems. I disconnected everything and took it to another studio and had no problem. All of a sudden, when i started everything up a couple of days ago, i got the "hardware not found" error. I've done the same thing that everyone else has done with uninstalling and re-installing drivers with no success. After reading i have not seen a solution to the problem. What i don't understand is that it worked fine for a couple of months, but now i get nothing but the blue light indicating that it is connected but not!!!
Please Help!!!!!

After going through the forum, I originally thought it was only a Windows problem. It also seems as if Avid has not come up with a fix for this problem and just decided to release different hardware!

Hi ,

Just want to join the group of people with "hardware not connected"

I recently purchased Pro Tolls Express with the M-Box Mini.
I followed the instructions and all went well - Pro Tools started and the sound came out through the M-Box.
I installed the programs on my new Mac Mini. Pro Tools soon prompted me, that I needed more CPU power, so I installed 16 GB and restarted.
Still all went well - Pro Tools and M-Box were running - joy…

As I had to move to a new address, I packed everything down and haven't tried to use Pro Tools or M-Box until now.
BUT now as the M-box control window appears it says: hardware not connected - not streaming.
The M-Box has power (the light is on) and I have tried with another USB cable - no luck.

I have tried to un-install M-Box, and then tried to re-install it.
As I have re-installed it, I have remembered to unplug the USB before installing.

I have found 4 different drivers on your homepage:

MboxMini_1_1_2_OSX_77731.dmg
Mbox_Mini_1_1_3_Driver_Mac_78311.dmg
Mbox_Mini_Drivers_v107_72735.dmg
Mbox_Mini_Drivers_v105_68826.dmg

I have tried to install them one at a time - each time restarting the Mac - and every time I am told that the installation is successful?
I have tried to connect the M-Box after each driver install - but no luck.

Any help appreciated - but as far as I can see, nobody has found a solution.

Is it time to join forces and give AVID some kind of wake up call??
They are apparently selling a product that doesn't work.

Hi PKP,
Sorry to hear yo've got the same problems - let's keep an eye on this thread and see if anymore people turn up with the same issue - maybe we can do something about contacting avid together.

best
