OK so I get one of these new ilok2 & buy the above crossgrade to 10/11 from PTLE which I use my old Digi002 to qualify for the deal? Or do I use one of my old registered PTLE versions 5, 5.3, 6.1 6.7, 7.1 7.3 & 8 in my avid account?
Not sure how far back the crossgrade offer goes, but with that array of versions at least one will qualify.

Yes you can transfer licences from one iLok to the other. Since you'd be using v10, which is still RTAS format, plugins would probably need updating (usually free updates) for paid plugins. I'm sure you're aware of the different format (AAX 64Bit) for PT11, but since you're not going there at this stage it should be relatively straight forward. The good thing is you'll have PT11 for a later date.

Thanks for the advice
You use your LE interface to qualify for upgrades, that essentially was your license dongle for those versions.

You need to do some reading, this forum is full of threads about PT 11 and plugins. PT 11 only supports the new AAX-64 bit format. If you want to use Pro Tools 11 then you have to upgrade all your plugins to that format if upgrades are available.

Pro Tools 10 supports RTAS and AAX-32 format plugins. But you should also run the latest compatible plugin versions that you can.

You have to be careful about the difference between AAX-32 and AAX-64.

Avid really shoud of kept the 10 Demo until 11 is fully compatable.

I have purchased 11 but will use 10, it would be nice to use the demo while I wait for my crossgrade to arrive.

I upgraded to PT10 / 11 Was bloody expensive

PT11 will be waiting a while, not even sure if this old MacBook Pro will handle it, unless there is a performance boost built in!

You do need an iLok 2 for the Pro Tools 11/10 license, demo or permanent, so keep that in mind. But if you have an iLok 2, anyone can demo both Pro Tools 10 and 11 with no restrictions other than the 30 day license limit.

At least that is what it looks like to me, you can kick me if I'm wrong.

From what I see on my iLok account, the Pro Tools 11 Trial/Demo license is a bundle which includes Pro Tools 11 and 10 licenses good for 30 days.

Download Pro Tools 10.3.6 from the Knowlede Base (the version you would need for coinstallation with Pro Tools 11), and use that while you wait.

You can also download the Pro Tools 11 trial if you want. The demo version installers have been updated to v11.0.1, same as the latest release version.
