Anyone had luck opening 6.4 sessions in 8HD?

Another one of those guys who finally can afford to upgrade to 8HD and in the meantime, 7.4 came and went. :) Been using 6.4 on Tools Mix 24 for years and years now.

Anyway, everytime I open a 6.4 session from my old Mix24 system, session opens and then will crash and just play without allowing me to stop etc. I can even record audio but then it will flash up a mile long error message. I gotta screen save it, I know and apologize in advance.

Running Fresh Tools 8hd install on G5 2.7 dually. All fresh installs of Leopard etc.

Sessions from scratch work without a hitch but with literally hundreds of 6.4 sessions, starting to panic a little.

Got ole bessie hooked back up until I can figure out what the heck happened.

Oh yeah, running Waves and TRax TDM

Is that maybe a problem?

I don't have any sessions that are that old to open, but you might want to make sure your Pro Tools 8 version is up and running well first. I would record several tracks and install the same plug-ins that you used on your older sessions so that you have duplicated something that is somewhat identical and make sure that it is all great.

Also, make sure you have the updates that are compatible with your plug-ins: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...n=news_details

If you are running older versions of Waves or T-Racks, then you will be having major problems.

In PT 8 we got a handy little feature where you can open sessions with plugins inactive. Hold shift when you click on the session file. That should open the session with all the plugins inactive. I have opened version 4 sessions in 8 with no issues.
