Re: GDPR and Avid's advice to turn off Filevault
Since OS X Lion, Apple has been using FileVault 2 for volume encryption.
Apple claims that their encryption is abstracted from the application. No application knows that it is accessing an encrypted volume. I have not tried FileVault 2 on an audio drive for Pro Tools. I asked this question of some people at Avid Connect and they did not say that it would work. You may have to try and report back.
