Re: Has anyone tried the Bob Clearmountain drum sample CD\'s?
More like...
Who hasn't tried the Bob Clearmountain drum sample CD's? They are sooooo dated. |

Re: Has anyone tried the Bob Clearmountain drum sample CD\'s?
I guess I'm in the minority when I say that I don't really like them. They are certainly well recorded, but to my ears there isn't enough "snap" to the performance. Sounds like they were tapped on by the assistant engineer rather than played by a real drummer. In other words, they sound real enough, but I'm not sure I'd hire that drummer.

Gotta admit - I haven't tried/heard 'em but have also been eyeing them. Just curious to hear what it is about them that make them sound "dated" in your opinion. Thanks. -Donny |

Re: Has anyone tried the Bob Clearmountain drum sample CD\'s?
I agree that they're not the most cutting-edge modern stuff-type samples, esp. the ambience and arena end of things... But I have to say that they are bloody well recorded and can be extremely useful in your 'toolkit', I've used them and been satisfied. I have #1 and #2.
Oh, the percussion is nice as well... 6X 2 |

What else is out there that would fall into the cutting-edge, modern category - single hit's, not loops.
PS: Don't forget to try blending the BC samples together to make your own sound. |

The Burning Grooves Kits still hold up pretty well. Much edgier than BC stuff. You can find them at ilio.com. I have the BC#2 set and don't use it very much. Except the cymbals are really good.

Check this one out.
It is the one that works best for me. They have mp3 demos. It has received excellent reviews. DrumKit From Hell

I use both Clearmountain discs. Like 'em.
