ASIO don´t work with Ableton...

I can get Ableton Live (from Digi) to work as a standalone with the ASIO driver, but not togehter with PTLE - advice needed...

(It seems to have something to do with XP Pro not beeing properly configured with the 6.1.1 ASIO driver...)

Pro Tools LE 6.1.1. with Wave and ASIO drivers 6.1.1.

You can't use the Digi hardware with more than one app at a time.. so the ASIO driver can't be used while Pro Tools is running.. you'd use the ReWire plug-in.

Thanks Rail, but I don´t seem to find it anywhere inside Pro Tools. Don´t I just make an Auxtrack like with Reason and there it´s supposed to turn up?

I just reinstalled it to not waist our time too much - but still no luck...

Quit Ableton Live, run Pro Tools 6.x, create an Aux track and insert the "Ableton Live" (or something with a similar name - I use Reason, and the plug-in is named "Reason") across the Aux track. Live should run automatically - assign the correct outputs in the plug-in to monitor.

Thats just it - I can´t find Ableton like I find Reason? In what catalog or subcatalog do you have Ableton?

Oh - you have the Live XS which is in the promo package.. that doesn't support ReWire.. you need to upgrade to the full product.

That´s a bummer. Since I got it from Digi, I thought in my naitivity that it would work with Digi? Then I must say, that the Reason solution looks far more interresting to me.

(If you moniter this forum in Berlin - take notice! The Digibundle wasn´t for free, it costed USD 99:-. On the other hand, if you monitor it in Stockholm - I´ll talk to you soon.)

Don't forget though that the full Abelton Live product has ReWire support.

There is v3 out now, the demo works with ReWire, follow Rail's advice... Live 2.1 XS (that's the deal) worked for me but with some limitations: I used onboard soundcard, (formerly disabled in BIOS, loaded latest Audio driver, and run it without MIDI), just as stand alone audio, but I managed to RUN both programs together, hope this helps!
- Only correct syncing may be difficult. It may work with the waiting for MIDI command. -didn't find out ,cause I have no MIDI wrapper installed.
