glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
is it normal for there to be a glitch in the audio when adjusting plugins.Check out what I mean in this video toward the middle of the video as he is adjusting the plugin and the sound warps a little bit,.This seems to happen to me sometimes when I'm adjusting or turning plugins on .Not sure when exactly it happens to me but it sounds like this.

Re: glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
I don't recall ever hearing audio glitches while adjusting any plugin. Tough to offer any advice with zero details about your system or what plugins are causing it.

Re: glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
I didn't watch the video, but I have experienced this for years generally with Waves reverbs and delays. Happens on my PC Nuendo rig, and happens with reverbs and delays in Pro Tools. It's nothing that I've ever been concerned about, always chalked it up to the fact that I may be making changes to big verbs or long delays.
I would occasionally crash the PC but only in the final stages when there were a lot of plug ins loaded. Remember, these are computers that are doing a great deal of calculations. When you try to change certain settings in real time there may be artifacts depending on the system. I vaguely remember even an analogue Klark-technic reverb I used to love would do things like this if I changed certain patches. Don't sweat the small stuff. I mean if it's happening for automation then you have a problem.

Re: glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
2 things to think about;
This is confusing to me from the Sandra report... Memory Controller : ASUS X58 I/O Hub 2x 3.22GHz (6.43GHz) Memory Controller : Intel Core Desktop (Bloomfield) UnCore 2x 3.22GHz (6.43GHz), 3x 4GB DIMM DDR3 1.61GHz 192-bit Memory Module(s) Memory Module : SanMax ModulePartNumber00 2GB Memory Module : SanMax ModulePartNumber01 2GB Memory Module : SanMax ModulePartNumber02 2GB Memory Module : SanMax ModulePartNumber03 2GB Memory Module : SanMax ModulePartNumber04 2GB Memory Module : SanMax ModulePartNumber05 2GB I don't get why it says 3x4, but then shows 6 RAM modules. Are they all identical? Are RAM timings set manually in BIOS or are you using the DEFAULT setting? #2-what interface are you using and are you recording to a FW drive? VIA FW controllers are usually not PT-compatible.

Re: glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
thanks Dr.
Albee I'm not sure about how the computer is set up to answer those questions but I am recording to the WDC WD10EALX-229BA1 (1TB, SATA600, 3.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) : 932GB (D:) I am using a Lynx Aes16e card for an interface I just had the machine setup so I was not recording on the C drive and I have not had any freezes since then.It seems to work good now other than those sound glitches once and a while |

Re: glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
Albee, I have noticed some odd things using Sandra. It shows my eight 2gb memory modules as eight 1gb modules.

Re: glitch in sound when adjusting plugins
Quote:
This is one of their BLUE drives and I would NOT use it for recording. My friend's rig(with 3 WD BLUE drives) had lots of issues, and once he moved sessions OFF those drives, the issues cleared up. He also had to return 2 for replacement under warranty. The BLUE drives are like the McDonalds of hard drives(built cheap for general use). The WD GREEN drives are built to save power by sacrificing performance(NOT what you want in any audio machine). The BLACK drives are built for best performance and longest life, and those are the only WD drives to buy. I own a few BLUE drives and only use them as system drives(with plenty of backup) or in external drive cases as backup drives
