I've very disappointed in Avid. I'm sorry I passed along the information giving everyone false hope that delay compensation fixes would be included in 11.1.3 as I was told by Avid.

In my reading of info in the last week or so, Avid will be beta testing Avid Everywhere at the end of the year. They will be running it with PT11 as the base. Now common sense should say that PT11 will have to be up to snuff.
So there is hope….but when did common sense prevail

I'm so disappointed, we wait for almost 4 months for this update and they didn't fixed one of the most requested (and hated) bug.

Let's wait another 4 or 5 months to see IF they fix this mess.

Avid C'mon!

Terribly disappointing. Shame on Avid for ignoring this glaring handicap.

Can't trust Pro Tools 11
Plugin presets change randomly, during offline bounce.
The delay compensation bug.
Lesson learned....
Do not pay for upgrade until sure it's ok.
A waist of $299
I want my money back!

Since Avid is silent on the subject, I think we need to be more vocal.

I am going to speak up at every Avid public event I can attend and politely, but firmly ask why they are ignoring fixing the delay compensation issues? I am encouraging everyone to do the same. Perhaps Avid will find it more important once it starts getting aired at public events.

Obviously complaining "privately" (since nobody outside of this forum hears us) is not working.

I am not a pot stirrer by nature, but this has gotten ridiculous and something new needs to be tried.

I really would like to know others thoughts on this. Would that be inappropriate? Do you think it might be worthwhile? We are a community and I would like input from our community.

This post may not survive the day, who knows? Hopefully I will not be banned, as my intent is not malicious. But, it is time we are heard and and its hard to ignore bad publicity, especially in public.

Thoughts?

I'm polishing my pitch-fork as I write! ;-)

If it gets some attention and means that the various ancillary, sync' related bugs also get looked at (ProTools refuses to slave to incoming timecode if system delay is above x samples), then I'm reluctantly in agreement.

Clearly posting here and to the ideascale database has no effect.

I agree with Trailerman and ghostwriter. I have started discouraging students in my Pro Tools classes from upgrading to PT 11 for this exact reason. I think the only answer is through their pocket book. Right now they are not listening to anything else.
