It's not the tracks that do it for me tho...
For me it's paying for:

*Soundreplacer
*Multi-Track Beat Detective
*TL Space Reverb

So, I'm game

I already picked up Altiverb and I chose the Smack LE plug-in option for the Upgrade Plus, so unfortunately for me, the only worthwhile features included in the MPT are Full Beat Detective and 48 Tracks and Sound Replacer I guess (haven't had a need for Sound Replacer yet, but who knows). To be honest, if the Special Offer extended to those of us "suckers" who bought the upgrade plus just a few months back isn't considerable or at least on par with the DP competative upgrade, Digi's decision to not include within PT LE some of the more basic features of most other native DAWs (full Beat Detection, plug-in delay compensation, and more than 32 audio tracks) may have pushed me into the arms of thier competitors. If they knock enough off of the MPT for those of us who took the bait with the Upgrade Plus, or maybe offer the "supercharging" features separate from the plug-in bundle aspects, I'll stick with them for a while longer and just hope they come out with some better interfaces, but it doesn't look great. I think the whole MPT approach was a very bad idea as is the way the M-Powered line has been integrated into the Avid family. They should keep M-Powered as is (32 tracks, Beat Detective LE, etc.) make the "supercharging" features of the MPT standard in PT LE (48 tracks, Full Beat Detective) and develop a native based HD line while maintaining thier current HD customers by offering tons of free plug-ins. Also, it wouldn't hurt to keep current with the Mac updates. This is a fast moving industry and marketplace dominance isn't a given.

... I second that. And what about the DV Toolkit 2: over $1k and surround-panning (or at least some sort of support) is NOT included... C'mon... Smells like WUPped Waves here.

I'll third that.

What's the point of getting LE when there's so much more choice for M-Powered and to anyone not working in video, there's no difference! Give us delay compensation!!

I'll second that. What's the point in sinking more money into features that already exist in other programs (Logic, DP.... ahem)?

Ya! And I'll be trashing the Filet Mignon for TOFU too!!! It's got all that you need to survive in it, and no bad fat!!
I use Protools because it works, I like the interface, and it tastes good (oh wait, that's the Filet Mignon).
