Default More Soundgrid questions

It's been a couple years since the introduction of the Soundgrid platform but we still haven't seen any 3rd party plugins jump on board. So I have a couple of questions if anyone happens to know that maybe would explain why we haven't seen any 3rd party plugins.

Is Soundgrid a complicated format to code? More difficult than AAX DSP?

Do you have a pay fees or royalties to Waves?

Or do most manufactures feel it's not worth the time/effort since there is a lower demand for DSP?

Do some manufactures not like the current implantation of the Soundgrid format? Could it be better?

I only ask this since I'm considering investing more money in Waves and maybe the Soundgrid format. 3rd party plugins were a major selling point initially but I haven't seen any movement.

It is taking forever for 3rd parties to jump on. Maybe they don't see the sales movement, just like aax-dsp. Flux just announced and Plugin Alliance previously announced. Had a client come into my job talking that there are many more developers who want to break into the Live market looking at the soundgrid format. But that's talk at this point.

Being that soundgrid is Linux o/s and regular Intel chips there's no way it's as complicated to code for than AAX-DSP. Should be a simple port.

For me, it does look overly complicated. Plus there is a cap at 64 channels. Rest has to be native. The good thing is the ethernet cable hook up. No need to worry about the ever changing thunderbolt, usb-c, etc.

It probably wouldn't be a big deal for me except my primary gig is live.

For studio stuff, I generally dislike running the plugins inside the studio rack shell. It makes it so you have no idea what's really happening inside your session and adds extra steps to the workflow.

At this point I'm considering going all in Waves exclusively for Soundgrid or maybe I'd rather have nothing to do with them.

He was specific about Autotune. Not so specific about Slate and Fabfilter.

2016 they need to shows more signs of third party life for Digigrid in the studio or...

and they need a simple 16 analog i/o. Right now you have to buy multiple units to get 16 analog outputs.
