Default $599 for what you received in the last year?

Is there anyone who feels like they received $599 worth of value out of Avid in the last year?
Please, not those whom upgraded from previous versions 10 or below at a discounted price to get you on the subscription plan.
Just everyone else already on 11.

I'm really curious if there are any HD 11 users who feel like they received $599 worth of anything in the last year?

Since this is what they are going to start charging per year for HD users, I started thinking about the last 12 months. What did I get and would that be worth $599 going forward?

Has this been solidified? If so, there hasn't been a proper announcement.

Considering it says on the Avid site "stay current for just $599/year" seems pretty clear that it's a yearly charge, not a one time upgrade charge.

I know support plans have a yearly fee, I just wasn't aware the HD licensing terms had been solidified.

No, we don't know all the details, such as what happens when we let it lapse.
But, we do know it's a yearly fee of $599 according to Avid's site.
I'm just looking at the past year thinking how pissed I'd be if it had cost me $599 for what I've received.

Well, I'm one of those asking "What did I get" for $599.

As it stands today... Features... The answer for me would be no I don't feel like I've got my $599 worth of anything. I am glad they decided to unlock heat but I still had to pay for that. I'm still waiting on the features that were promised. I don't need the support plan. I've have never called Avid for any support in the last 9 Years. When I did have a problem I fixed it myself. Now when it comes to bugs, they get fixed whenever Avid decides to fix them and we are still waiting on some. So if tech support could fix bugs in the software that would be another story but, not!

ProTools Expert posted the other day a post on the Avid Facebook page explaining what would happen to HD users who let their plan lapse... Pretty amazing, and they fairly quickly removed it, but still worth a read. Insulting to say the least....

But to summarize, if you let your plan lapse, and then sign up, Avid is going to make you pay for the time you lapsed (Prorated, so if you were off 10 months, you'd pay $499, PLUS the next year $599 plus a $149 'reinstatement penalty'. So let it lapse 10 months, and you're looking at $1247 to get back 'current'.

Let it lapse say 2 years and you're looking at $1946...

Beyond insulting, and I hope that woman and anyone else related to that decision has been summarily fired.
