Default PT11 HD or PT 10 HD takes more CPU?

Hi, I'm using PT 10 HD native , wondering to upgrade to PT 11 HD native. Will PT 11 HD eats more CPU or it will actually save CPU as it's 64 bit?

Can I still use RTAS plugins in 11?

Using win 7 64bit professional

As far as we have noticed PT11HD uses less CPU power overall and runs and feels far less "clunky" than PT10HD. A lot of times PT10 felt like it was maxing out the Macs we use and when we uninstalled PT10 and only use HD11 we have a whole different user experience. PT11HD runs like a dream now (11.2.1) and it seem like Avid have now mastered PT11 as the latest version update is THE BEST in years. Not one issue since we updated to 11.2.1

As I said in another thread : Well Done Avid! Well Done

Best of Luck

Pro Tools 11 does not use RTAS at al(only AAX 64 bit plugins)l. Any plugins you have will require updates(if available) or replacement. ALMOST all the major plugins have been ported to the new AAX64 format. In theory, 11 SHOULD exhibit more power on the same system. In my case, 11 is NOT working better(actually worse), but a friend(with a newer 6 core rig) has found 11 to be a major step forward on his rig
