the mp3 option cannot be enabled
the MP3 option cannot be enabled because: the "Codecs" folder could not be found within the "Pro-Tools" folder.
i got this when trying to export a wave file to mp3 format, did the installation miss this part when i installed pro-tools or is this something i need to purchase as an add-on or what. thanks- Sam Adams |

Re: the mp3 option cannot be enabled
In iTunes go to Preferences/Importing/Import Using/(choose)MP3 Encoding (select rate; maybe 160kbps) and then OK.
Drag the wav file to iTunes Library, select (tick) the song, go up to Advanced and select "Convert selection to MP3" and be happy! |

...or instead of 160, try 192, or higher.
Yes, the mp3 does have to be purchased extra. iTunes does it for free.

Re: the mp3 option cannot be enabled
I encountered this once as well. You do have to check an extra box when installing PT to install the MP3 option codec. You can choose to install the update or 30-day demo version.
Since you now already have PT installed, you can re-run the installer and only choose to install the mp3 option and nothing else. |
