Default Icon monitoring

I'm getting a D-command this month replacing my Procontrol.

I'm monitoring thru a Coleman TB4 bypassing the Procontrol and wondering if

the Xmon is going to be on Par with it (Coleman) thus getting rid of the

Coleman

Any insight ?

Love my X-Mon.

If you plan to use the Auto Talkback and/or Auto Listen mic features like I do, you'll need to use it.

I would recommend to get rid of the TB4 and instead use d-commands Monitor section together with the X-Mon. Makes your life much easier

Also SIP/AFL/PFL works perfectly fine by doing that.

d-command & x-mon covers almost everything I need. The only gadget I added is a custom built monitor switcher for more monitor speakers as the d-command got only 2 left if one uses the XMon Alt Meter patch which lets you connect your (RTW) level meter to the Alt-Output.

Thanks for the positive responses .
I'll try to do a quick A/B on the 2
I want to make sure my chain is still pristine when I do some mastering

Hey Francois,
Did you ever do this test? I'd be interested to know the results. I'm thinking of getting an Avocet to replace the Xmon if it is better.

Not entirely true. You can still do it, but you lose the auto switching that the X Mon does.

If you use the "AFL Mutes" option in the I/O setup you can get pretty close to what the xmon does.
