Default Programmers - How hard can it be to write Driver software?

Seriously - it going on half a year since El Capitan was released and there is still no driver software for AVID's own MBox3 hardware. Assuming Apple made the SDKit available months ago, how can it possibly take so long to tweak the code.
One would think it would take a couple of days to do. Maybe AVID hires programmers that are graduates of Barstow Community College because Stanford grads cost too much.
So, programmers - what's the problem?
