PT 9 and the original Digidesign Midi Interface.

Hey All,

Being the 'Midi Virgin' that I am, does anyone know if the original Pro Tools Midi Interface (grey 1U unit) will work with PT9/10, and if so, if there a way of double checking that PT can actually 'see it' ?

The reason for asking is that when I try and generate MTC, the only ports that appear to be available are a number of Euphonix ports. (I should mention that I'm using 2 x MC Mix's and an MC Control ).

If anyone can enlighten me on the basics of MIDI, I'd be eternally grateful.

I've never even heard of this?

If it has a driver and works in your OS then it should work in Pro Tools.

If you want to know if OSX see's a midi device open audio midi setup and it should show there, for the PC.....ergh???

If you want to test if a device is delivering midi to the OS then you can use Midi-ox for PC or Snoize Midi Monitor for mac.

I wouldn't hold out much hope.........but good luck!
