Default Re: Getting a lot of crashing with 2018.1

I tried both 2018.1 and 2018.3, constant crashes the moment I try to rearrange a track (drag a track)

It's consistent. I tried a clean install as well, same issue.

I went back to 12.8.2 with no problems at all.

I am still on Mavericks, I wonder if I have reached the limit of being able to upgrade. Of course that happened after I renewed my subscription... figures.

Mavericks is not supported. It's written many places. Need to be 10.11 or higher.

Duh!

Hence my comment...
until this version it was running just fine and it wasn't officially supported anymore. Neither are Custo Mac's and they are running just fine.
But based on what I read above people are having similar issues with Drag and Drop so that tells me this might not be a Mavericks issue at all.
Anyway, was hoping for a helpful reply not a smart ass one...

How is that a smart ass comment?

He’s telling you that it’s unsupported, something you may not have known.

Guys... a thread like this demands system specs. It is not useful to say you have crashes when you don't say which hardware/software combination you are using. For all I know you might have a 2002 PowerBook G4 running Jaguar. Not going to work. And no, this wasn't a smartass comment.

I have a late-2013 Mac Pro 6-core with 64GB memory and 1TB internal SSD, running latest 10.13.3 & PT 2018.3 without crashes, not a single one. This is the minimum amount of information you need to provide before you get to say you got a lot of crashes. If I wanted to tell more, I'd say I have a PT HD and I use Apogee Symphony MkII interface via ThunderBolt, but also have a DigiLink option card installed so occasionally use it via Avid HD|Native Thunderbolt.

OP- I just upgraded to sierra on top of my old 10.9.5 last night. i have to say, 2018.3 is working just fine. few kinks here and there, but no crashes. it was crashing my Mavericks setup though just like you mentioned. it's worth the upgrade.

I have to work on a massive project and Pro Tools (Mac with High Sierra) is crashing every few minutes. I tried both 2018.1 and 2018.3 and I tried a clean install as well, same issue. It´s crashing when I import session data, while bouncing a track, while inserting a plugin (mostly waves) and so on. I never had issues like that - it´s horror. Please help!!!
