Eleven Rack not working at 44.1 Khz

Hello All,

Today I tried opening a session recorded at 44.1 Khz, and long story short, I found out that my Eleven Rack is not working at that resolution, it doesn't matter if I'm using ProTools or just using the Eleven Rack as audio interface for Windows.

Now, it did work before. That session was recorded with my Eleven Rack. The only thing different now is that I installed the expansion rack (2.0.1) some months ago.

Anyone experimenting this issue?

This was an issue with some of the older batch of 11R's. You have a lemon and it needs to be replaced. some of the racks can work for months before the issue happens.

You need to contact Avid to have it replaced.

I had this exact issue on 2 different units before I got one that worked. Contact them ASAP.

I had four bad ones when the problem first started. It was frustrating to say the least, but Avid was great. Don't give up Francisco. It's really a great piece of gear and worth the bit of hassle you have to go through right now.

Well, I'll have to check with Avid. I bought the unit on eBay (new) but I live in Mexico City. I don't know if they will let me exchange the unit with an authorized dealer in Mexico. If I have to send it to the US, it will cost me a lot, not only shipping, but customs for the new unit.

Can anyone, that has had their 11R replaced for this issue, please post the contact info used for this? I've been using mine for a little over a year and just had the " no sound at 44.1 " issue happen at a gig. I just about crapped myself, but somehow thought to look at the midi clock setting and once I changed it from 44 to 48 I had sound back. I left the 11R powered up, as usual, for the rest of the gig with no problems.

I believe the warranty is only a year.. So I'm not sure if they'll replace it after that or not. I obviously can't speak for Avid, so you should probably call them and see what they say. I'm sure their tech support number is on their website.

If Avid is like many manufactureres like Apple, if there is a known problem with a device, they will replace/repair the unit even after warranty has expired. That's IF. I have replaced my 11R twice since May, once for the clock issue you are experiencing, the second for a ground/hum issue. I as able to work the exchange through the retailer in conjunction with Avid. The retailer simply bought a new 11r, and then Avid issued them a credit for the same amount when the defective unit was received. Maybe the retailer in Mexico City would be willing to help out. Can't hurt to try.
