i haul my system out to the garage and use the air compressor! I don't have time for those little cans to blow some surface dust off and into my other gear!!! ;-)

You need to be VERY careful with an air compressor due to the pressure and also the fact that there is water in the air. I only ever use mine to blow the exterior, never inside a unit.

Those small cans, whilst being a rip off, don't normally have that issue and are designed to be used inside cases etc.

Just an FYI. Would hate for you to accidentally damage your gear.

I use a small shop vac. I have one that lets you connect the hose to the exhaust port on the vac so it blows air out rather than sucking it in when used in the normal mode. I try to avoid cleaning out the case when it is humid, because as said above, there can be moisture in the air. I will test the conditions by blowing some air on my hand prior to using the air to clean out the case.

Moisture I live in the desert! and don't store the compressor pressured. Even the cheapest compressors have valves to control the pressure. After 20 years and far more systems than I could count, I think I am ok
