Default 2nd startup of PT8 LE is xtremly slow

Hi there,
my setup : macpro quad 2.8, 8 Go ram, os 10.5.6, with PT8 LE (cs2, but the same trouble was occuring before updating) and a Digi 002R and command 8.
The first launch of protools (ie after booting the mac) is very fast (about 15 seconds). But a second launch, without rebooting the mac, is taking about 6 minutes. I tryed with all plug-ins unused, I tryed to uninstall and reinstall, authorizations are repaired.
To be more precise, after the click on protools app, it takes about 2 minutes and a half for the ProTools launch window appears, then 30 seconds to one minute with the message "Protools loading", then 3 minutes with "Setting up Peripherals".
Thanks for any help.

Is Spotlight possibly indexing drives at the time of the second launch and, if so, do the launch times get faster if you set your drives to 'private' in the Spotlight preferences?

Thanks ! It seems that turning system and work drives "private" fixed the trouble. But I'd never encountered such problem with previous os version...
