I'm pretty sure they will release it when the HDX cards are released, which should be in the next week or so.

If I remember correctly, one of the Avid guys said that in the live AES webchat.

So - do I have to upgrade to PT 10 to take advantage of Revibe/ReverbOne in native? Will my existing license be enough? And do I have to have any other hardware for it to work? Or will there simply be a Native version in my plugins folder?

Thanks!

Hi,

PT9 will not run AAX plugins. They will run on 10 if you have TDM licenses! But are really only intended for HDX cards, but seem to work on non HDX as native but with quite a high CPU hit for revibe as it was an accel plugin!

Ha! Forgot all about this. Wasn't there another plug that was going to be released as native AAX? Aside from Channel Strip, ModDelay3, and downmix.

Forgive my ignorance. I'm just getting into ProTools 10 now. So AAX is ProTools 10's new term for native? And basically put ReVibe and ReverbOne are being ported from TDM to AAX? Will our TDM license still open the AAX version?

Hi,

AAX is the new plugin format for HDX cards. There are AAX DSP that run off the cards and AAX native that run off the computer CPU. The native versions will also run on non HDX systems. Revibe and reverb one are out now as AAX specifically for HDX card users but also work natively on non HDX systems.

Thanks Crizdee. So if I have TDM licenses for ReVibe and ReverbOne on my iLok - is it as simple as upgrading to PT10 and then they'll open up as Native instantiations when I'm running 3rd party ASIO drivers to like a MOTU 24I/O? Am I understanding correctly?

I an confirm that Revibe and Reverb One will run on my Protools X CPTK (in Native mode)MacBook pro running Mac OS 10.6.8 using my existing TDM Ilok assets.
One instance of Revibe sucks 14% CPU I haven't got as far as seeing what multiple instances will do.
