Hardware Issue?? Avid Help!
So no matter what I've tried, including clean reinstallation of Mac OSX and PT(8), my problem persists. Launch a session or create a new one, everything looks normal until the launch gets to "building edit window", then pinwheel spins for 20 seconds, then it moves on to "building transport window" pinwheel spins for 20 seconds. Once open, Pro Tools takes 5 or more seconds to respond to anything. And it only staggers along. The counter and cursor etc. are frozen but then jump ahead and freeze again. The audio plays back fine (but of course after waiting 5 seconds after I hit the space bar). Waveform displays are lo res with a black outline, strange looking. I am only having problems with Pro Tools. All other software is working normally. So if its a Pro Tools specific hardware problem that leaves the 96i/o, the digi link cable, the Accel card, or something else in the CPU (graphics card?). iLock? What am i missing?
thx, Dave Pro Tools HD (8.0.1 cs2) 96i/o G5 1MHz duo core OSX 10.5.6 |
