Default Sync HD not working with 12.5

Hi everyone. I was using ProTools HD 12.4 on Mountain Lion and I just upgraded my OS to Mavericks (so that DropBox would continue working!). I also realized that I had a ProTools 12.5 HD installer in my account that I never used, so I installed that.

So now with PT HD 12.5 running on 10.9.5 my Sync HD is no longer recognized. I thought maybe it needed a firmware upgrade, but there is zero information about that on Avid's website, or anywhere else. The firmware version is currently 2.21, which is the same version that DigiTest points to when I run it.

Is there a newer firmware version out there? Where can I download it? Or is there some other reason why my Sync HD is not recognized? It seems everything I need is supposed to be included in the HD driver download, so maybe 2.21 is the current version, even though the firmware file is from 2016.

what have you done to troubleshoot ?? tossing prefs, etc ..

and you can have multiple versions of pro tools installed on a MAC ... just change the name of the one installed befroe you install another one - and yes, you can re-install 12.4 for testing and use if Sync HD only works in 12.4 .. add the version # pro tools12.4.0.294.app you know just make it the actual version #

Grey Face (Avid) Sync HD.

I'll try trashing prefs and re-naming 12.4, which is still installed on the 10.8.5 system drive (I kept Mountain Lion and installed Mavericks to another drive in case I had to go back), and then re-installing 12.5.
