Express Card to Firewire adapter, USB
Hi,
I have my eye on a Lenovo laptop that has Express Card and a couple of USB 2.0 ports, but no FW or ext. SATA ports. I guess you get what you pay for, but its' a great deal. Since many audio interfaces are FW 400, I wonder if an Express Card to FW adapter will work for an audio interface. And then there is the issue of recording to an external hard drive via USB. Any EXPERIENCE with this? Media Man EDIT: Oops. Wrong forum section. What can't I delete this? |

Re: Express Card to Firewire adapter, USB
I occasionally run my LE system from a laptop usig a SIIG firewire 400 ExpressCard without issue. I also have successfully recorded to a USB drive as well as a FW drive. However, it is worth noting that I do have one desktop computer that will not properly record using USB drivesThis is obviously for mobile recording.
