Settings for Avalon 737sp for vocals

Can anyone suggest settings for recording vocals on the Avalon Vt 737sp. I am recording male vocals and it is folk /Irish music. Mic will be either Rode NTK, Blue Bluebird or
Neumann U 87Ai. I love the Alison Krause sound. Lots of air and in your face!

Paint by numbers anyone? Seriously, set the gain so you get "meter" readings above halfway on your protools track(and always record at 24 bit). I would not do much with EQ until you really learn the sound of the mic(they all sound different). Maybe I would add 2db at 10K for "air" and always high-pass according to the vocal range(male vs. female and bass vs, alto vs, tenor...). You didn't say how you are getting into protools so I will assume you are going balanced analog out of the Avalon, into a line input on a DIGI interface with the gain all the way down(knob) or set to +4 (switch).
