Default Recording guitar

Hello everybady
I'm new owner of 11R and PT11.
I was got this set to recording guitar on my pc.
Everything is ok when I recording"in one piece",problem is when I try to"cennect"more shorter parts together. In this situation, between parts, appear some kind of sound/gap(I think You know what is this).
At start I was use options copy/paste,than in correct place I was add"speciall preper"clip, and still the same problem.

If somebady will be that kind and help me,I'll be grateful

I have got in pdf PRO_TOOLS_11_1_Reference_Guide_86560,so if You don't have time,or I can find answer in there, give me please number of page, becouse I can't find it myself

Do you mean that after you edit you get gaps, or when you record it leaves gaps
Im going to sugest that it is likely you dont have the spot you wanted to record at entered the way you need it.
or
if you are editing tracks together it is possible that you are in grid mode and not accurately getting the precise selections you want.
or do you mean
when recording a small piece between recorded parts it is not in time with the song.

If that is your problem there are a few reasons for that.
LATENCY
what latency do you record with. I have found anything past 250 for punch ins to be useless but even that feels a little off to play at.
When you do your first pass with nothing else recorded does it feel a little out of time.

You have a good honest question here but it probably has not been answered because in all honesty I don't exactly understand what your problem is.
there is so many ways PT can run a muck, if you don't understand it.
It is the ultimate test of patience understanding and learning.

also when doing a punch in you need to play along with the song before it starts recording and slightly after it finishes.
this is most likely the issue

Thanks for answers

I was thinking ,that is problem easy to fix,but it's not :/

ok,so at start,my pc
SiSoftware Sandra
Computer Model : ASUS K73SV
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz (4C 8T 3.09GHz, 3.1GHz IMC, 4x 256kB L2, 6MB L3)
OS (C:) : (NTFS) @ Seagate ST9500325AS (500.1GB, SATA300, 2.5", 5400rpm, 8MB Cache)
Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Home 6.01.7601 (Service Pack 1)
Platform Compliance : x64
Hardware : 11R
Software : Pto Tools 11
Guitar : Dean razorback v255(pickups EMG 81/85-active)

Situation:
To recording i was use only: guitar->11R->PC(USB)(PT 11)->headphones

Track in composition can have few same themes/melody,let say ABCBCBC.
When I'm recording all together(in one piece) is ok,everything in time with metronome etc.Problem is when I wish to recording just 1pcs A,B,C,than I wish to"joint"them together in ABCBCBC.
When I'm trying to"joint"them together(A+B),than I've got a"gap"between,which is heared.(A-small gap-B)

I was thinking, maybe is a problem, becouse pt was start recording with few seconds delay(latency),so I was put just middle parts in middle(doesn't matter which to which),to have some parts"without start of recording".Nothing, still same"gap"

Maybe is a problem, that I was try to do this in single track?

I'm sorry for my"silly"problem, but I'm really new not only in PT family, but in this situation(before never use any DAW).Also sorry for my non musician language.

to"evilstudios" "SpinningDisc" I have different time, that is why I don't give an answer immediately

to"Ben Jenssen"I'll try to find something on yt,maybe You have some links?

Hi

That drive you have is not very good for PT11 (5400rpm) and as it isn't 7200rpm and only 8MB cache. 14 + ms seektime is too slow and will be causing all kind of errors once you get recording anything with a few tracks and plugins. Also Indon't see any secondary external drive needed for PT tomrecord to. You need that for recording your sessions and that drive HAS TO BE 7200rpm and 64MB cache so WDC Black 1-3 TB 64MB cache which is a drive lots of members use as it just works and is fast and reliable.

To add to this. Whats your Ram? 4/8/16GB or how much do you have? You need a minimum rock bottom 4 GB toneven start up PT and a absolute minimum of 8GB for PT 11 to function and best of all 16GB or more. All these issues has to be fixed before we can help you when problems arise

This is a necessary evil and no way around it.

Chris

It sounds to me that maybe you need to learn how to edit. Go to youtube and search for something like "punching in in pro tools" or "how to edit audio in pro tools"(without the quotes). There is a steep learning curve with this stuff, but once you get going, you'll be amazed at what you can do. Don't beat yourself up. Just tackle it a bit at a time(nobody knocks out a hit on the first time out)

You in grid mode and should be in slip mode perhaps?

Just search Youtube for "basic editing in pro tools".
