Default Internal delay...

Let´s say I first record some drum tracks and then a bass track with a DI box. If I monitor drum tracks and the bass through AD/DA converters, Can I even imagine of playing The bass in time. Pleae, someone , tell me about internal delay etc. How can I record all in time?

Don't know yet. I know programs like logic have a delay, but not many, if anyone, uses it to track live drums. I plan to do a test as soon as my dealer gets a release version. My feeling is I'm not going to like the delay. the work around may be to record monitoring the imput insted of the return.

well, all digital gear has some amount of delay...effects, mixers, and all that. tdm ssytems do a good job of letting you monitor with low delay, and asio2 systems do a great job as well, so it can be done in programs like cubase with cards like the sonorus studio and the like. i haven't heard any good answers about delay on the 001 yet though. bummer. i know it's direct i/o drivers can be accessed by other programs like cubase, but that may or may not be as efficient for throughput as asio. i don't know for sure. i can't wait till real users check that out.

Very minimal delay. I watched the demo and the 2 guys doing it were recording live AT THE SAME TIME. Bass and Guitar. The bass player was going thru PLUGINS like sans amp and a moogerfooger. I hear it's much less latent than the 2408 systems.

I'm running LE on a 400 MHz G4. There are 4 hardware buffer settings; 2 are for tracking (128 samples & 256 samples) and 2 are for mixing (512 & 1024 samples). You can switch between the settings freely in the same session.

Vocals are no problem with the low delay settings. I cut a Rhythm-sensitive track today (cowbell)and with a bit of source (board) monitoring thrown in the track went fine (using the 256 sample setting).

read the response from digi at:

Looks like between 6 and 40 milliseconds.
