Mbox 2 Mini Pad issues PT 9.05

ok i have had this problem for a while when i record vocals it sounds like i am in a huge hall way alot of hallway noise on the background i was told to press the pad button and it should fix the problem i did that and it did help out to a certain degree but vocals already sound like theirs an air conditioner blowing into the mic when recording any suggestions please help
