Default External converters for 002r

Hello!

I need external converters for my 002r. I record tracks with my Mackie MDR recorder. After importing and editing into Pro Tools, I 'd like to run it back to my Ghost console for mixdown. So I just need 8 D/A converters. I need more than the 8 internal converters. I'd like to use 16 outputs from Pro Tools.
Do you have any gear advice? I found lot of A/D converters but not D/A converters.
Would the MOTU 2408 work just as converter?

Thank you!!

Hedgehog ,

Why?? And what is your budget ?
If I was you, I'd just pump it back through the Mackie, as D/A

good luck,

Hello again!

I can spend 1000 bucks, not more. I use the plug ins and automation in Pro Tools. I don't like summing in the box. I want to use all my outboard gear as well. Running through the MDR would be an oppinion, but Mackie didn't answer me to the question: Can I use the MDR with analog card and the optical 24 card just as converter. If it works, I would buy the optical 24 card from Mackie.

Thanks.

AFAIK, the Mackie card slots are limited, but purchasing the optical option is IMO cheaper and sounds very good...Some of my clients use them, and was positively surprised on the DA quality.
Just pull and swap, as I remember...

good luck,
