Default Sonnet Crescendo PCI G3/500

We have several 9600's and a 9500 that we are hoping to upgrade to a faster processor. Since Newer Technology is out of business, I am looking for alternative upgrade cards. It seems that Sonnet's Crescendo may be a good option. Does anyone have any experience with this card, or alternate recommendations?

Thanks!

inky

we're having a client who uses the following setup:
9600 with Crescendo G3/400 or 300 (don't remember anymore, at least it's a Crescendo)
PT MixPlus with Logic Audio as front end.
miro DC-30
and 2 monitor cards with 21" Sony screens.

No problems so far since more than a year

So i guess i could recommend it

I'd be a little wary of the Sonnet cards, as we have had some difficulty with them...especially in systems that use expansion chassis, either Bit3 or Magma.

We put the NewerTech upgrades in the same systems and they work just fine...it's a bummer that Newer went out of business, but I'd also investigate the XLR8 cards...
