Default Vamping in PT HD aka Qlab

Hi all,
I'm new here.
Can anyone give suggestions to how i can use Protools HD to play multi tracks,(24tks) in a similar fashion to Ableton Live or Qlab?
I need to vamp or loop a section and then jump to a new marker when necessary.
Senario would be a theater show where they have sets to be moved in or out and the music needs to loop at that section and carry on after set move is done.
The call to jump to next marker or cue varies...some nites it takes longer some nites it's shorter...taken cue call from stage manager.
Thanking in advance.

PT is never going to be as seamless as Live or QLab. If you didn't mind the sudden jump to a new section, perhaps you could:
- Save a marker including selection for each loopable section
- Put the transport into loop play

Then when you recall a new marker it would contain the selection which would loop.

Could you cut and paste your looping material so that it spans longer than the longest time you could envision needing it? Then while it's playing set the transport to point at the next cue, which should be on another track and fader. Then, when you need the transitional material to end, you'd fade it off, stop the transport and then start again at the next cue?

If you need the next cue to come in tempo with the first one, you could get really tricky and have a quarter note delay across the first cue. You'd need to start it a little early so you didn't wait for it, but when you stop the transport at the end, the cue will keep playing through the delay for a beat, and you'll have a beat to restart the second cue (which would NOT have a delay) in time.

Of course PT isn't really DJ software, and if none of these tricks fit, maybe some of the cues could go into a sampler, and you could trigger them with a MIDI keyboard instead of the transport?
