Re: Do I lose any sound quality using Toast DAE to extract audio from audio disk
If it's just normal audio CD not a multisession CD with data, you can just select the track you want to convert using "SoundApp" and it will convert it to dual mono .sd2 or .aiff files for you even handling the conversion to 24bit or 48Khz in the process if need be. It's very handy and totally free. Also if your going through a sample CD looking for drum loops or whatever, you can be editing them in protools while soundapp rips away at more tracks in the background and it won't slow down at all.

SoundApp can be really useful to play audio files, or convert in some instance, and it's usually playing files that no other audio software will play.
However, I would never trust my material to SoundApp: it is well known to introduce clicks and pops randomly in audio. my hard drive is notably full of mp3 files that are all corrupted. |
