Default Needing more I/O...Lynx??

I'm running PT HD 8.1 on a HD 2 system using a Digi 192 analog with 8 I/O.
I'm starting to mix and need more I/O to connect outboard gear so I want to hook up an Aurora Lynx 8 to the Digi for a total of 16 I/O. Is this possible?

How would I connect the two and set this up in PT? Will I need any Lynx cards or addition hardware?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Rich

If you are going with Lynx, I'd suggest the LT-HD card. Pro Tools will see it as a Digi 192 and it will connect directly to the other HD card in your computer.

After doing some research I have been looking into getting the Avid HD i/o 8/8. I don't want to upgrade to the HDX since I'm happy with my current HD system.

Will the Avid HD i/o work with an old HD PCI-X core card? I would like to have the Avid run to the core card then slave the Digi 192 to the Avid via SPIDF...
Any other way I should do this that would be better?

Thanks!!!!!!

Rich
