Trouble using an external clock w/ PT 7 LE?
Anybody having trouble using an external clock in PT 7 LE? I clock from a Universal Audio 2192 (RCA -SPDIF is selected in PT). When I quit PT 7 and reopen I get stuck on Setting Up Peripherals. I then get a spiraling balloon. When I force quit, Mac OS forces me to restart the computer. However, when I select internal clock in PT7, I have no issues quiting and reopening PT. I've had no problems with 6.9.2. Any ideas? I have done all the troubleshooting (using only qualified plugins, etc.).

Re: Trouble using an external clock w/ PT 7 LE?
When you say you've done all the troubleshooting, does that include trashing prefs and databases?
Can you give the exact steps you're taking so that we can try to reproduce this, including all the settings in Pro Tools and your convertor? |

Re: Trouble using an external clock w/ PT 7 LE?
This may be related: When we upgraded to PT-LE 7, PT can't remember to take its input from SPDIF instead of Analog and to sync to SPDIF. We use an original MBox on a new iMac G5 1.8GHz, 1GB RAM, running Mac OS X 10.4.3, fed by a Presonus Eureka. We have to set the Hardware Preference every time.

Re: Trouble using an external clock w/ PT 7 LE?
Yes, I have done all the troubleshooting, including trashing prefs and databases. I also did a clean install of 10.4.2 and then installed PT7. As far as settings go, the 2192 is set to internal clock, 96k, AES/SPIDIF in w/ SPIDIF button depressed, and the digital output is ADC. I have PT set to 96k external via RCA-SPDIF in the hardware dialog box. I think I 'm ok as long as I don't forget to switch PT back to internal clock source before I quit. Like I said all these settings worked fine in 6.9.2. Thanks.

Re: Trouble using an external clock w/ PT 7 LE?
Also, if I restart my computer and open PT without the 2192 turned on, PT will open and I will get a message that PT is reverting to its internal clock. I can use the 2192 as the master clock in a session, I just have to remember to set PT back to internal before I quit. Or another way around it is not turn the 2192 on and let PT revert to the internal clock. Hope this makes sense.

No, not yet. Typically it can take a few days to get something tested, so please be patient.
