Lost iLok

Ok I need some help, I lost my iLok with my pro tools 10 license, but I have an older iLok with pro tools 9 license, is there any way I can get my pro tools 10 license transferred to my older iLok, or what would be my best course of action? Thanks

Your ProTools 10 license was ON the lost iLok so it's lost along with the iLok. No way to 'recover' it without someone convincing Digi to 'give' you another license. Total drag, but that's sort of how iLok works.

The asset isn't in your account, so you can't download it to your old iLok.

Welcome to the world of horror. Try pleading to AVIDs heart and tell them about what happened. Perhaps they will issue you an NFR or new License.

The dumbest thing one can do is to buy a software with USB Dongle Protection
The next dumbest thing one can do is to loose the USB Dongle ;-)

I lost my ilok as well whats the protocol on getting a new one? I just bought a new ilok..so are you telling me that pro tools has to send me a "NEW" ilok at a price? and also at the price of customer service? Why cant I just transfer my pro tools licence to my new ilok?

No -- I am telling you that AVID does NOT cover anyone loosing an iLok with their license on it.. You insurance would be the right place to go... Be like calling Apple asking them to send you a new MacBook Pro for free after you lost it in the airport...

Not saying avid wont do it. But they are NOT obligated to do so...

Call them or write them and see if they are willing to send you a new License to your iLok account. There you can insert your NEW ilOk and DL the license to... Should AVID play along !!!
