Default MDWEQ5 'not valid 64 bit plugin' problem...

I know there was a thread a long time ago about this, but I can't find it.

But I own a Native license of Massenberg Designworks EQ5 Native. It's right there on my iLok.

I download the latest installer from my Avid Account.

Before I install it, I remove the two old plugins, as instructed. I install the new ones, that are supposed to be 64 it.

When I launch ProTools, it tells me it can't find an authorization for either version of the plugin, even though it is most definitely sitting on the iLok.

It then asks me if I want to move the plugins to unused because they are not 64 bit plugins....

But they ARE, and I do have an authorization on my iLok.

I cannot figure out what is going on.

It appears George can't either, if you're talking about the Windows version!

MDW EQ 5.0.2.34 AAX DSP+Native Installer for Pro Tools 10+ (Mac) (32.29 MB)
MDW EQ 5.0.2.19 AAX DSP+Native Installer for Pro Tools 11+ (Win) (28.89 MB)
MDW EQ 5.0.2.34 AAX Native Installer for Pro Tools 10+ (Mac) (32.25 MB)
MDW EQ 5.0.2.19 AAX Native Installer for Pro Tools 11+ (Win) (28.79 MB)

If your iLok says “AAX DSP+Native” and you installed the “AAX Native” version (or, vice versa) - you'd get that message.

Otherwise, try downloading it again. It could just be a corrupted download.

Thank you! Somehow I thought I had only the native version, and the iLok doesn't actually show. But in my account it listed it as DSP+AAX, although the installer in my downloads section was the Native only one listed at the top..

Working great now.

Good to hear – and thanks for posting!

I hope you’ll excuse my using your Thread as a “Please fix the Windows version!” Soapbox.
(Sherlock tells me you’re probably on Mac!)

Hopefully, one of our mellifluous Moderators will elevate the ongoing, well-documented problem with the Windows version ….
