To do what you're trying to do, the Focusrite is not needed. You need to install the USB driver for the TR-8, and select it as your audio interface.

Thanks Quikdraw, yeah this seems to suggest I need to use Aggregates so I can use more than one interface. Thanks again, will give it a go!
