Well, I'll try HD native :)
I work in 44,1 so I can expect tracking drums with 32 samples buffer, right?

I doubt you will need to. HDN at a 128 buffer is about the same latency as a firewire interface(003) is at 64. I track at the 64 buffer setting with no mention of latency(unless something is messed up)

Well, OK, after almost 20 years with hardware PT having no latency is obvious. So the question is not if I need it but if I can get it

Fingers crossed that you dig it as much as I do I just spent another day on the friend's HDX rig helping him with some templates. He had 2 Waves reverbs that were causing over 2000 samples of latency. The same reverbs on my rig report 33 samples. Things that make you go "Hmmmmm"

That sample thing is strange because waves don't do AAX DSP so wouldn't you both be using AAX Native ???

You are correct. But for whatever reason I can't figure, native plugins on an HDX rig seem to exhibit more latency than on an HD/Native system.

When we mix Native and DSP plugins on our HDX2 rig we get more samples aswell but by putting the Native plugins first we got a HUUUUGE difference so maybe try that. Everytime we have a session with both AAX-Native and AAX-DSP we do this and vσila .... Computer technology is a weird animal

This is because when you use an HDX card, the mix engine runs on the CARD.
This means that when you pipe audio from there to your CPU for native AAX processing it then has to be returned to the cards mixer for Playback through the DA. This is what incurs these long delays. Just stick with DSP plugs when recording. The SONNOX reverb is only 7 samples.
