Default How to adjust Track Width in Edit Window

Don't know how I did it? But somehow I Narrowed the Track Width so narrow it is hard to do any Editing.

The Ref Guide says to go to View (or Com. Opt. M) then toggle Narrow. I do that & it doesn't change the Width of the Edit Screen Tracks? Just Check Mark or unchecks it.

Watched some You Tube re; Edit Screen Tutorials but none discussed this?

Any help with this is appreciated.

Thanks,

Lars

That key command only works on the tracks inside the Mix window. To change the size of the tracks in the Edit window, control+click on the ruler section between the meters and the timeline. If you place your cursor between tracks in the Edit window, it will change to a line with top and bottom arrows. Click and drag with that cursor to change the height of the track.

That is to adjust the width of the Tracks in the Edit Screen? Not the Height of the Tracks.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Lars

Also, zoom your selected track height by pressing control - up or down arrows.

Zoom all track heights by pressing control-option-up or down arrows.

Also, if you are resizing one track by clicking on the divider between two tracks, you can hold down option and it will adjust track heights for all tracks.

There are also plus vertical zoom buttons at the bottom right corner of the Edit Window.

If you truly read and understand what CT said you can't adjust the width of tracks in the Edit window. You can resize the whole Edit window using standard Windows or OSX mouse movements though.

Sorry about that. I did miss that you aren't interested in track height. musicman691 is correct if you are looking to resize the whole window in general.

There are other factors that will also effect how much space you have in the edit window. You can show and hide the clips bin, or the tracks list/groups list (1:18-1:50 of http://youtu.be/azU2iafJ1QI). Or you can choose to show or hide track parameters with the Edit Window View Selector (2:43 of the sam video).

OK, I watched a bunch of You Tubes & have been reading the Manual w/o much success finding the answer?

Usually in the Edit Screen the width of a 3 minute Song requires me to scroll across the Screen in order to see the entire length of the Song.

Somehow I hit the wrong button & now a full 3 minute Song can be viewed in less than half the width of the Screen.

The Timelines have become so fine it is almost impossible to do any editing, punch ins, add, delete or make any changes.

It seems there must be a way to return the Screen to it's normal default width? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Lars

Experiment with the two buttons under the red numbers 1 and 4 in this image.
