Default BFD Lite?

Hello -

I have searched the forums and internet so please forgive me if I missed this topic but I have been looking for over a year unsuccessfully.
Since upgrading to PT 11 I lost my BFD Lite drum plug-in. I had another Mac running PT 10 so it has not been a big deal. I recently upgraded to PT 12 and I would really like a drum plug-in but I have not been able to figure out where or how to manually “put” BFD Lite into the correct spot. I can not find a(n) .aaxplugin file for BFD to put into the Avid-Audio-Plug-Ins folder.
Is BFD lite just not going to work with PT 12 on a Macbook Pro 10.10.1 Yosemite?

Kindest regards,

Rich

BFD Lite will not work in PT11 or PT12 as it doesn't have aax support, only RTAS. You might, if you have the vst or au version installed use that with a bit bridge and either Blue Cat MB7-2 or Patchwork to host it in PT12. And according to this page on the fxpansion site: http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=64&tab=192
it is no longer supported by them. Sorry but you're going to have to go to BFD3 or BFD Eco to work in PT11 or PT12.

Thank you Jack -

I was considering upgrading to BFD Eco or Abbey Road 60's drums. I'm just doing songwriting and not professional or anything like that - just messing around. What do you recommend?

Thanks again,

Rich

I don't think ECO has AAX support either. You might want to check that out. BFD3 is a great option, but if you want something a little less formal, check out EZDrummer 2 with a few MIDI packs. Abbey Road 60's may be a little on the advanced side if you're not familiar with the Kontakt environment.

Eco doesn't have aax support but does do vst and au so one could use MB7-2 or Patchwork to host it. BFD3 is a good option but make sure the computer has the power as well as an external drive for the samples as unless you have a lot of memory it is very disk intensive in it's streaming.

Abbey Road 60's is okay but nowheres near as flexible as BFD3 in the sounds department.

Thank you very much for the replies. Looks like BFD3 is the way to go.

Kindest regards,
