How do I get my 002R to playback anything other than Pro Tools??

This is so frustrating!!

I just want to watch you tube and here the sound therough my audio monitors (connected to my 002R)

What am I missing here?? should it be soooo difficult.

I go to system preferences> Sound
Then I switch OUTPUT to Digi 002R ..

Then... the sound still comes out of my computer and not my monitors!!

Why ?

And, why can't it be as simple as that??

I know what you mean. I often have to restart my MBP and then switch to get it to work. Not a solution but you're not alone

You might also need to go under Audio Midi Setup and select it there, and configure outputs 1-2 as the speakers.

Adam, have your 002 turned on before you start your computer, then go to preferences and select 002.

IF your are trying to play back internet stuff such as youtube there is a simple solution buy a cable that on one side is MINI JACK and the other 2 quarter inch split......plug it in to your aux input and then just put your monitor AUX button on.....now this is my solution for my 003 im not sure if that same auxilary monitor button exsist on the 002r ...best of luck

My suggestion as well. The 002 uses RCA for the Alt inputs, but the setup is the same. Simply hit the Alt to Mon button to listen to all non-PT audio I did that for years and never had any issue, other than the less-than-stellar sound from the onboard analog out. Adding a Presonus Central Station(or any monitor/source switcher) is also very handy, but I actually prefer to keep my audio machine disconnected from the internet as much as possible(I use a cheap off-lease PC for internet surfing).
