Update...
Frogging around behind the DCommand, I found that unplugging ALL 6 of the audio connectors on the JBL sub solved the problem of faders/rotaries not responding to touch. Any one of the 6 connectors (3 in, 3 out) brings back the trouble when connected. Since this is obviously not an acceptable solution, I tried just lifting the ground on both AC connections for the DCommand. Bingo...trouble goes away. Kinda' wish I'd tried that right off the bat. (Always looking for the complicated solution first, I guess) So, the long-term plan here will be to run a separate ground rod outside the studio, and throw a grounding bar behind the DCommand so it will be all by its little ol' self to Earth. Symptom gone, but I don't consider this 'solved.' No other gear in the place complains about the power. Sens-si-tive! |
