Default MC Control Panner issue Avid Response

Entered By : Charlie-Ann SkivingtonEntered on :[bleep]30/12/2014 09:07Dear Cory[bleep]

Thank you for your query.[bleep]

Unfortunately, this is a design limitation of the Artist Control touchscreen surround panner that it does not provide access to all accessible pan space in the PT surround panner (the Pro Tools surround panner design is a square, and the Artist Control is an older style circle design).[bleep]

This has been logged as a feature request under reference EUCON-912, but unfortunately there does not appear to be any solution to this and there will not be in the very near future as the limited resources the team has go into fixing more major issues.[bleep]

I will close this case now as Issue Logged, and the above issue number is attached to your case.[bleep]

If there is any movement at all on this issue, your case along with any others tagged with this, will be reopened and updated.[bleep]

Kind regards[bleep]
Charlie[bleep]

I'm glad to hear that there's some movement and fixes on the front but it is a shame that the panner is just not in the plans any time soon. Anyways my work around is to use V-Control which works great but there's no visual feed back. So what I do is I keep the MC Control Panner page open and I can see more or less where the panner is at any moment in time. Let's hope a fix comes about. I find the Artist series has a lot of bang for the buck. I've been on a procontrol for years and I'm very impressed with the feature set on these units!
