002 RACK VS. 002 CONSOLE???

I am currently preparing to participate in the Turbocharged upgrade. However my question right now is "Has anyone had any technical issues with the 002 Rack vs. the 002 Console?"

I obviously know the differences between the two units as far as features are concerned. What this question relates to is are there any power issues, LCD issues, Firewire connectivity issues, bad inputs, bad lights, etc? Are there any common problems that one version of the 002 is know for over the other?

The biggest issue for you is price!!!
002R is much cheaper than the 002, I have the 002, which I use not every feature but a lot of them, though all of the features are available within Pro Tools anyway. The biggest plus is having faders to actually manipulate whilst you are mixing. Is that worth the extra? That's for you to decide.

Both models are generally sharing exactly the same connectors, internal parts and circuit boards. Especially that famous power harness, which however is said to be fine with the latest production batches (serial number ending with a 'G').

I have the DIGI 002 Rack and have not had any issues. If I were given the same decision as you
Id opt for the DIGI 002 Rack and then get a COMMAND 8. This way if you ever wanted to move up to HD
youd have a controller that works fine. Also, If you found you didnt like or use it, you could sell it and still have Protools. DIGI 002 Rack is only 1200 BTW. If you got that and the Command 8
youd be at 2200 which is about the same as if you got the DIGI 002 .
