Xmon output levels
Hi
Just connected my, for me, new d command with xmon to my protools hD3 system om mac pro. everything works fine exept for a little lower output on one channel (stereo) It seems to be in the Xmon. Switced the cables around and so on. Any suggestions of what can be wrong or what could be adjusted? Niklas Sweden |

Re: Xmon output levels
Try holding down for a few seconds the individual output and speaker buttons and see if they indicate a trim has been engaged.

Re: Xmon output levels
Thanks for your reply Jeff.
I guess you mean in the monitor area on the D command? I´ve checked and both channels indicate 0 db. I have to raise L channel 6-7 db to make it sound equal. Checked the cables again and the look good. Tryed to move to alt outputs on the xmon but no diffrent. Can something be trimmed inside Xmon? Any further suggestions? Thanks again... |

Re: Xmon output levels
All of the trims are only addressable from the Monitor Section controls as described in the guide here:
http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor...uide_26592.pdf Monitoring begins on page 79. It's also a good idea to do a reset from the Utility section soft keys on your surface. https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...681&popup=true best, Jeff |

Re: Xmon output levels
Thanks again for your help
I´ve done reset on both main unit and faderpack. Still 6-7 db missing in L channel. I can do a trim to match the levels for now but guess It´s not the right way to fix the problem. Shall I leave the xmon to a service guy or is it anymore I can do myself Niklas |

For service, we would recommend Advanced Musical Electronics:

Re: Xmon output levels
6-7db could very possibly be a cable issue (one-legged).... I'd swap the input and output dsub cables to be sure. Does it sound thinner that the other side?
