Default hard drive formatting question...urgent...help

i have to format two external hard drives (firewire 400) that can be read by

a mac AND a PC. i think i have to format it as MS-DOS, but im not sure,

and i dont have time to do it twice. any help is appreciated.

P.S. any one know if there is an issue with converting a hard drives power

rating for use in another country (france and new zealand)

10.3.x and 10.4.x can read (not write) from both NTFS or FAT32... Both can read and write to FAT32. To format >32 gig you'll find it easiest to format on a Mac.

Personally I use HFS+ formatted drives and MacDrive from www.mediafour.com for sharing drives.

You can only record directly to a native formatted drive on either platform (the drive will appear as a Transfer drive in the Workspace for a non native system).

thanks for the help so far, but i have another question.im putting a session (from a mac) on a drive that is going to be transferred

to a PC. so as long as they (the pc) dont try to record on that volume and just transfer the data onto one of their drives, it should

work right? basically im just trying to get out of having to burn two sets of dvds (8-9 dvds per set)

Right.. use Save Session Copy In... and any of the above should work (except NTFS).
