Pro Tools 8 crashing on startup
It seems as if I have made a session that is too large for Pro Tools to load up. When I load my session it just stops after a certain point. I've watched the system monitor as it loads and it gets to 1.2 gigs of memory usage, then just stops. Is there a way I can disable some of the plugins outside of Pro Tools, or does it have some sort of mode that will allow me to load this session and dump some of the plugins? I have had this same issue with Pro Tools 7.4.

Re: Pro Tools 8 crashing on startup
When I was at the Pro Tools 8 Demo i saw a feature where you pressed a key while loading a session and it disabled plugins to prevent sessions from crashing. Unfortuantely I can't remember the key. I'll try it a few times and let you know.

Re: Pro Tools 8 crashing on startup
Hey, I just tested it on 3 different sessions. All you have to do is hold down shift then open the session. This works in the main dialogue when you first open pro tools or if you hold shift before selecting open from the file menu. I'm not sure exactly how long you have to hold shift for, but i held it the entire time from before i clicked on the file menu until after the session was fully loaded.
