Re: PT 2018.10 is here
So I tested PT 2018.7 against 2018.10 on my MBP with Quantum 2.
I ran two tests: test 1 was 16 tracks recording at 96k 64 buffer. Test 2 was the same but each track had 2 plugins on them. I did 10 takes of 5-9minutes of each, on each version of PT. The results... Test1 (no plugins) scores: 2018.7 : 9 out of 10 (one -6101 error after 1:20) 2018.10 : 9 out of 10 (one -6101 error after 1:16) Test2 (with plugins :Omega A with oversampling turned off & Maag EQ4): 2018.7 : 10 out of 10 2018.10 : 9 out of 10 (one -6101 at 1:10) From this test it seems that .7 performs a little better than .10, but honestly it’s not enough data to tell. It could be coincidence. What does jump out at me again (I’ve noticed this before) is that these show-stopping errors usually happen around 1:10 - 1:30 Certainly I’ve noticed that if a take makes it through the first 3 minutes without an error, it will usually run how ever long you want it to run (disk space permitting). So what happens in these first few minutes? What happens around 1:15 ? |
